Later on in the 1st round the Yankees were able to draft 30th which they received after free-agent David Robertson signed in Chicago with the White Sox. In the 30th pick the Yankees selected Kyle Holder a shortstop from the University of San Diego. Baseball America ranks Holder best defensive shortstop in the draft and sixth best in the state of California. They also have Holder 38th best in the nation. According to SB nation "Everyone seems to be saying the future lies in his gloves."
Later in the draft and the last move the Yankees would make is going into the 2nd round drafting a LHP from Indian State is Jeff Degano. With the 57th pick they choose Degano whose suffered from Tommy John surgery two years back and keeps the ball down the middle and throws it hard. He can throw up to a consistent 94mph fastball and throws a decent curve ball. He came out of nowhere returning from the Sycamores after missing all of last year he has potential and could show up in the roster in about 3 years.
The Yankees are confident and positively sure they made the right choses in drafting the players going with two pitchers this should improve their defensive skills and this is the future of the Yankees industry and the franchise could lead to another championship. With drafting Jacob Lindgren last year LHP from Mississippi the pitching will be a lot stronger than it was before in the past.
